PGSA ELECTIONS 2012

Hey!

I would like to inform all Graduate students that there are three positions vacant in the PGSA exec and we would love for you to get involved and  fill one of them!

Here are some details of the posts available:

1. 1.       VP On-Campus Activities

This person will be responsible for coordinating social activities and events which take place on campus. They will represent and respond to the needs of all postgraduate students living on campus, sit on the appropriate committees within LUSU and liaise with the College management team.

1. 2.       VP Off-Campus Activities

This person will be responsible for coordinating social activities and events which take place off campus. They will represent and respond to the needs of all postgraduate students living off campus, sit on the appropriate committees within LUSU and liaise with the College management team.

1. 3.       VP Sports

This person will be responsible for  organising, publicising, attending and arranging teams for inter-college sporting events. They will liaise with the relevant sections of LUSU (the students’ union), attend all relevant meetings and liaise with the College sports team captains and the College management team.

Nominations open Friday week 6 (24/02/2012) and close on Friday week 7 (02/03/2012)

Nomination sheets will be in Graduate College Porters’ Lodge and you should sign up on these if you wish to stand for a position.

Details of campaigning rules, hustings etc. will be sent to the candidates once they have signed up

Elections will be on Friday week 8 (09/3/2012)

PGSA VP Elections

The PGSA (Post Graduate Student Association) is the representative body for all postgraduate students at Lancaster University. The PGSA provides academic, social, sporting and welfare support. Check out their website…

The PGSA is run by an elected committee of students (the ‘exec’), elected each year in November. It is funded by Lancaster University Students’ Union (LUSU) and by the income it generates from its own operations, such as social events and games machines within Graduate College.

The operation of the PGSA is mainly specified by the LUSU and PGSA Constitutions. These documents specify the management of the PGSA and its responsibilities. As a postgraduate student at Lancaster, you have the right to question any member of the exec and challenge PGSA operation at PGSA General Meetings and via many other forums.

The PGSA releases information about PGSA events and activity via this website and Facebook. For some events we also poster campus.
