Accommodation All information on the accommodation available to postgraduates within The Graduate College can be found here and pictures of the rooms can be found here

Common Room This room is a flexible working/relaxing space intended to be used for group work, preparation of talks, reading etc. It is an alcohol free space, open 24 hours a day. You will require your University Library card to gain access.

We have just added  coin-operated lockers to this room to enable off-campus students to leave items they do not wish to carry around all day. They require a £1 coin which is returned when you return the key and remove your possessions (like at the swimming baths).

Games Room This room contains two pool tables, a dart board, table tennis, a seating area and some snack vending machines. The College pool teams have priority use of the rooms on Wednesdays and Thursdays after 5pm for their inter-college matches – contact the PGSA for more information on inter-college sports. The games room is generally open from 7am until midnight each day and you will require your university library card to gain access.

Off-Campus Room This is a small room containing a shower, toilet, small storage lockers, a kettle and a microwave. We are hoping to add more facilities to this room in the future for all students who live off campus. To get a key for this room, you need to see the College Administrator and leave a deposit of £10 which will be returned when you return the key.

TV/Meeting Room The TV room is open 24hours for postgraduates to use. It does not have any satellite channels – only domestic UK digital TV. Sporting events on satellite TV are available in the bar – speak to Gareth for more information. The TV room can also be used as a meeting area when the common room is full or more privacy is required, but its primary use is for watching TV.

Computer Room The Graduate College Computer Room, maintained by ISS, is available to all postgraduate students (resident and non resident). It is equipped with 25 networked PCs and is open 24hrs a day. One area is for quiet study and you should try and keep conversations to a minimum. To gain access you will need your university library card. There are two mono laser printers and one colour laser printer.

Gradbar, also known as The Herdwick, is open every evening for most of the year. Specialising in Traditional Real Ale it has been listed in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide since 2003. Gradbar (like all the other University bars) is only open to students and staff of the University and their bona fide guests. The live music in the bar every Thursday alternates between a band and an open mic night (except during the summer quiet period). Curry night is every Friday from 5-8pm

Please note, Gradbar is open to over 18s only.
