General Information

  • Whether you are from the UK, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Europe or further afield, if you’re doing a Postgraduate degree then you’re a member of Graduate College.
  • We run day trips every 2 weeks during term time and slightly less frequently during University vacations to various destinations around the UK. These are open to all students and staff and their bona fide guests. All tickets are sold through the University’s online store and go on sale around 2 weeks prior to each trip. They are advertised through this website and via email.
  • The College Administrator sends out regular email newsletters (LUGrad News). If you find that you are not receiving these then please contact her…

  3. Hey,

    What’s ‘The Lancaster Show’?

    Cheers

    • Most of the events on during Intro Week are described in more detail in the “Postgraduate Guide 2010″, which you should have been sent a copy of. The Lancaster Show is “a whole host of groups entertaining you with their talents. Be blown away by the Dance Society; take a peek at some the great University bands; see the Chinese Society in full flow. If they can perform it, we’ll be showing it.”
The link to the online version of the guide is on this page http://www.lancs.ac.uk/sbs/fresh/postgrad.html
Please note that some of the events listed as happening in the college are wrong as they are based on last year! The most accurate timetable forour events is the one on our website!
      Thanks, Jane (College Administrator)

  4. There are a few pictures on the ‘Facilities’ page http://lugrad.wordpress.com/facilities/pictures/ of the rooms and exterior of the College. There will be more as soon as I can go around with a camera, but that won’t be until the current students move out. With postgraduate courses being a whole year long rather than just three terms, this won’t happen until around the middle of September.
    Thanks
    Jane (College Administrator)

  5. Is there a GSA website. All the links I can find are broken. Thanks, Beth

    • The PGSA do not currently have their own website. I believe it is in the process of being constructed (the link is on the PGSA tab of this website). As most of our current PGSA exec. are about to leave (they are Masters students) I don’t know how quickly it will have content – I guess that relies on the new exec who will be elected in November.
They do have a facebook page here http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_193621910656245&ap=1 which I believe is used quite a lot.
      Thanks
      Jane (College Administrator)
